Strawberry Chocolate Cups
The food that we put into our bodies will either bring us into balance and healing, or it will create disease and dysfunction. Using whole ingredients and real food, we can enjoy all of our favorite flavors...yes, that even includes sweet indulgences.
These Strawberry Chocolate Cups took less than 20 minutes to make. The ingredient list is pretty simple.
- a bag of dark chocolate chips
- organic coconut oil
- ground cardamon
- almond butter
- maple syrup
- organic strawberries
You will also need a small pot or a microwave safe container, cupcake liners, and a cupcake baking tin.
Begin by melting the entire bag of chocolate in either the microwave or on the stove top. Add a tbsp of coconut oil to the chocolate as it is melting. Continue to stir, so that the chocolate does not burn. Add a dash, or two, of ground cardamon. Cardamon is a tridoshic herb that helps to balance all body types and digestions.
Once the chocolate has melted, line the cupcake tray with cupcake liners. Spoon about a teaspoon of melted chocolate into the bottom of the liners, just enough to cover the bottom. Next, place the tray into the freezer for about 10 minutes. While the bottom layer of the Cups is freezing, make the filling.
In a bowl, add a couple tablespoons of creamy almond butter, a tablespoon of organic maple syrup, and chopped strawberries (about 3-4). Mix it all together. It the consistency is too thick, you can add drops of water until you get the consistency you like.
By now the bottom layer of the cups should be ready. Add a small spoonful of the filling to each of the cups. Cover with the rest of the melted chocolate. Put back in the freezer for another ten minutes or so. You can top with a sliced strawberry, or some other garnish.
These are perfect for when you just want one bite of something decadent and sweet. These will not destroy your diet. Every ingredient in this recipe comes from nature. Keep it clean. Keep it simple. Enjoy life and all of the flavors that come with it with clean, healthy, and wholesome ingredients.
As always, much love friends.
