Simple Summer Salad


In the heat of summer, it is easy for us to become over heated. This may even cause us to become short tempered, sharp tongued and not quite ourselves. An easy and inexpensive side salad to add to any of your summer meals, this pitta reducing dish will cool you off from the inside out. All you need are 3 ingredients:

A cucumber

cilantro

1 lime

Peel and slice the cucumber as thinly as you'd like.

Chop about 1/4 Cup of fresh cilantro.

Place together in a dish. Slice the lime and squeeze the fresh juice all over the cucumber and cilantro. If you'd like, you can add a dash of salt, keeping in mind that salt does aggravate pitta, so use sparingly.

Enjoy the warmth of summer, with the heat of the sun on your skin. Just be aware of how it may affect your mood. The ingredients in this salad are naturally cooling foods that reduce the symptoms of too much pitta.
